  1. I am autistic and a learning disability nurse. I have personal insights into challenges related to accessing health appointments and not being understood by health professionals. I’m currently part of a research study looking at the experience of autistic people, their health, and barriers to accessing health services. My son has a learning disability and is autistic and I’ve had to support him throughout his life (he’s now 23) to be heard in terms of his access to health care and other support.
I would value the opportunity to join the Shout Out Team and to be involved in delivering Oliver McGowen training, and crucially supporting health and social care services and people working in those settings to provide the right support and better understand people with learning disabilities and autistic people.

    • Hi Gerard, thanks for your blog post reply, at the moment we are looking for people who can deliver training within the Black Country area of the Midlands. I think your experience would be very useful for Tier 1 and Tier 2 training. We have a short application form for our tier 1 co-trainer roles at https://forms.office.com/e/RC7L4hwz7W and a full job description on our website. Let me know if you need any more info by emailing seanshoutout@gmail.com

  2. I am wanting to find out about your shout out roles whether you seek hybrid workers to train people on teams. I contracted sepsis in 2015 during the birth of my son and he and I became disabled. My son has autism ADHD and breathing apnea and a weakened immune system and I suffered Guillain Barre syndrome I died twice and came back with affected learning and memory ability as a result of neurological problems from my limbs and organs being starved of oxygen. I now work in the field of equality I chair British Airways Global Accessibility network and I also work for Welsh Government sitting on the Shadow Board to the Cabinet Secretary for Wales as an equality sounding board. I saw your advert on my Facebook in Cardiff perhaps because of this not sure? But wondered if you needed any online trainers. I don’t drive because of my illnesses. I do a lot of assisting others in equality trials and myself I have DWP access to work arrangements and a workplace adjustments passport I am very familiar in helping advise others but I do live with learning difficulties and a shorterm memory impairment whereby I can’t do numbers or finance. Pls get in touch if you seek online trainers as I am available for hire but would only be online as too far away.

    • Hi Zara, thanks for your email and interest in Shout Out; at the moment we are only looking for people in the local area as we are running our training from offices in Dudley. If this situation changes then I will send out updates. Thanks again for your reply to the blog post.
